That moment when you know you're home in your own heart, when you stop asking where, what, when and you land in that knowing.
Art making can be extremely tumultuous, demanding that I stretch outside my comfort zone and destroy my work over and over in the confidence that I can recreate something I love even more with each new layer.
This process has lead me to challenge scarcity in my art and my life.
I called this piece finished early on because I fell in love after only a few layers. I'm not sorry I did because I still love what it's reflecting back to me, and that's why I've called it Smitten.
Knowing when to push and when to allow what is, is the process. Smitten reminds me that I can trust that I'll know when is the right time for each.
